Bespoke Homes - Winton Road, Bowdon

MMC/ICF CONSTRUCTION

After extending and refurbishing an existing Victorian house on the same road, this client had caught the building bug and wanted to undertake a new build using Modern Methods of Construction, whilst emulating the Victorian period properties in the local area. The new build is constructed from ICF; Insulated Concrete Forms, which are large modular panels, built to minimise time on site and maximise energy efficiency. This structure was then clad in traditional “Bowdon” yellow bricks, with bird’s beak brick course details, carved stonework, timber eaves and fascias to create a welcoming family home with elegant proportions.

The more contemporary rear of the house has stunning full height sliding glass panels with Brise-Soleil canopies to protect against solar gain along with an outside kitchen and floating fire. The four-storey elliptical staircase and bathrooms were detailed in-house, with Bella at Snowgoose Interiors providing a wonderfully rich and colourful palette of fixtures, finishes and furniture. The house was shortlisted for a LABC Building Excellence award for Best Individual New Home in the North West.
