DORMER BUNGALOW Proposal

This site was originally part of an undeveloped garden centre with permission for three bungalows that the client intended to develop further. Through discussions with the client and a planning consultant, we developed a scheme which added a further 3 bungalows within strict volumetric restrictions to the existing site, and then a further 3 larger bungalows to the neighbouring site which the client was aiming to acquire during this process.

The team developed the dormer bungalow unit types thinking of future design. Using ICF as a modern method of construction and ensuring the dwellings accommodated PV and Solar Thermal panels, ASHP’s and MVHR systems. This resulted in sustainable and future proof unit types that can be replicated across multiple sites, with a range of façade and roof finishes dependent upon their local typologies or planning officer requests.
